Keith Clark grew up in the shadow of The Rockies in a remote mountain village. He learned to appreciate nature at a young age and spent most of his time growing up outdoors: climbing trees, building natural shelters, camping, and caring for animals.
During High School he became an avid rock climber and climbed the steepest mountain in The Rockies four times. Before finishing High School he had broken three arms and a leg.
He led The Boy Scouts as a Patrol Leader and earned the rank of Eagle. He was elected to join The Order of the Arrow and successfully completed the rigorous Native American based initiation in the solitary wildness.
In 2003 Keith joined the US Army and completed Infantry basic training and the lengthy school for army field medics and graduated top of his class. In 2005 Keith neared death in a training exercise where he and his company were subjected to 50 days of extreme winter conditions living in tents where the temperature hit single digits daily. They were then deployed to Iraq where temperatures rose to 140 Fahrenheit constantly.
Keith’s interest in wilderness survival culminated one summer when he started following techniques and lessons outlined by Primitive Skills Expert, Cody Lundin. Venturing off without food or water became a past time as Keith combined lessons from his youth with advanced military training and a desire to experience nature in all its raw power.
